Stewart Edwards McAdoo, 69, of Russell, Kansas, died on Friday, May 07, 2021 at his home in Russell, Kansas.
Stewart was born on October 04, 1951, in Russell, Kansas, the son of Stewart Leslie and Josie Edna (VanHouten) McAdoo. He grew up in Russell, Kansas, and graduated from Russell High School in the class of 1969. After high school he received his welding certification from the Salina Vo-Tech School in Salina, Kansas. He met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Janet Sue Ross on May 26, 1971, in Hays, Kansas. From this union Stewart and Janet were blessed with three sons Doug, Mike and Curt. The McAdoo family made their home and raised their kids in Russell. Stewart worked as a welder and most notably worked for Easter Davis at Easter’s Welding Service. He loved being a welder and became well known for his attention to detail and craftmanship that made him known as one of the most respected welders in the Russell area. Stewart enjoyed fishing and hunting but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed spending time and playing with his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving family include his sons Doug McAdoo and wife April, Mike McAdoo and wife Kathy all of Russell, Kansas and Curt McAdoo and wife Vivian of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brothers Bill McAdoo and wife Carol and Larry McAdoo and wife Darleen all of Russell, Kansas; sisters Josie Doty of Russell, Kansas, Martha Batman and husband Charlie of Otis, Kansas, Evelyn Monroe and husband Leroy of McPherson, Kansas, Ruby McAdoo of Norman, Oklahoma, Mary Pollock of Collinsville, Oklahoma and Edna Coyle and husband Ron of Topeka, Kansas, grandchildren Brittney (Joey) Berens, Scott (Audra) McAdoo, Michael and Naomi McAdoo of Colorado Springs, Colorado and 7 great grandchildren.
Stewart was preceded in death by his parents, wife Janet on January 15, 2021, brother Leslie McAdoo and sister Alice Zordel. A private graveside service to honor both Stewart and Janet McAdoo will be held at the Russell City Cemetery in Russell, Kansas. Cremation has been selected by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be given to the Russell Food Pantry in Russell, Kansas and can be sent in care of the mortuary. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas, is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
