Ronald M. Chesney, 72, of Natoma, Kansas, passed away after an extended battle with cancer Monday, July 5, 2021 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.
Ronnie was born March 13, 1949 in Hays, Kansas. He was one of five sons born to Homer Bruce and Eileen (Meyers) Chesney. He grew up in Natoma and graduated from Natoma High School in the Class of 1968. He has lived all of his life in the Natoma area.
Ronnie worked for Master’s Oil Company in the tire department for over 20 years. He enjoyed working with his hands and was great with a welder. He also helped local farmers as a farmhand.
Ronnie enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family and friends. He had a special love for horses, especially “Sonny Jo” who was with him for over 30 years. Ronnie always said “There wasn’t a horse he couldn’t ride”.
Ronnie’s surviving family includes two brothers, Larry Chesney of Natoma, Kansas and Earl Chesney of Natoma, Kansas; four nieces and two nephews.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bruce Chesney and Everett Chesney.
Celebration of Ronnie’s Life will be held at 11:30 AM, Monday, July 12, 2021 at Natoma United Methodist Church. A private burial will follow the services. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, Monday at the Church with the family present to greet friends. A Memorial has been established with Hays Hospice.
