Betty M. Jane Gibbs, 98, of Russell, Kansas, died on Friday, September 10, 2021, at the Wheatland Nursing Home in Russell.
Betty was born on September 09, 1923, in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania the daughter of Walter and Mary (Chambers) Mason. As a young girl she moved to Jamestown, New York, where she attended local schools and graduated from Jamestown, High School. She worked for 30 plus years as a factory worker for the Jamestown Veneer and Plywood Factory. She was united in marriage to Phillip Gibbs and from this union they were blessed with a son they named Phillip.
Her son Phillip Gibbs is her only survivor and lives in Russell, Kansas. Cremation has been selected by the family and a memorial service will be held at a later date at the Petterson Funeral Home in Frewsburg, New York. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
