Terry LaVerne Nuss, 76, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022 at his home with his family by his side.
Terry was born April 25, 1946 in Great Bend, Kansas. He was one of three children born to Gerhardt and Delora (McCullough) Nuss. He grew up in Great Bend and graduated from Great Bend High School. He then attended Ft. Hays State University and obtained a degree in Business.
Terry was united in marriage to Phyllis A Winn on September 12, 1981 in Denver, Colorado.
Terry worked in retail sales and was a general manager for a Liquor store. He was a member of the Arvada Elk’s Lodge. He enjoyed golfing, traveling and having a good cigar with friends.
Terry’s surviving family include his wife of 41 years, Phyllis of the home; daughter, Sara Thomas of Russell, Kansas; son, Matthew Nuss of Colorado; mother, Delora Nuss of Great Bend, Kansas; brother, Greg Nuss of Great Bend, Kansas; four grandchildren, Scott McAdoo, Andrew Nuss, Channer Nuss and Madyson Thomas; and two great granddaughters, Adley and Amelia McAdoo.
Terry was preceded in death by his father and sister Sandi Simmons.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 15, 2022 at the Dole/Specter Center at the Fossil Creek Hotel in Russell, Kansas. A Memorial has been established with the Russell Play Park. Contributions and condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.
