Evelyn Irene Kee, 96, of Natoma, Kansas, died on Monday, April 22, 2024, at the Redbud Village in Plainville, Kansas.
Evelyn was born on May 13, 1927, in Pasadena, California, the daughter of Melvin and Berniece (Manley) Griffin. She was very young when the family moved to Natoma, Kansas, and she graduated from Natoma High School in the class of 1944. She was united in marriage to Raymond P. Luhman. He passed away in March of 1950. To this marriage one son, Ray Luhman was born. She worked as a secretary for Natoma Grade School for several years. Later, she was united in marriage to James W. Kee, Alton, Kansas, who had a daughter Nancy and sons Jim, Wayne, and Gary. To this marriage a son, George, was born. The Kee family then moved to the Kee ranch in Woodston, Kansas. She enjoyed Kansas State University Football, painting, traveling and her family most of all.
Surviving family include her son Ray Luhman and wife Diana of Colby, Kansas; stepsons James Kee and wife Ernestine of Stockton, Kansas and Gary Kee and wife Karin of Oxford, Iowa; sister Bernita Schneider of Natoma, Kansas, sisters in-law Marsha Griffin and Barbara Griffin, 11 grandchildren, and numerous great grand children, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, son George Kee, step daughter Nancy Harmon, step son Wayne Kee, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
A Celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, April 29, 2024, at the Peace Lutheran Church at Natoma, Kansas. A graveside service will follow at the Woodston Cemetery in Woodston, Kansas, at 2 P.M. Family will greet friends from 10 A.M. to service time on Monday at the church.
