Linda Kay Neil, 72, of Hays, Kansas, and formerly of Russell, Kansas, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the Hays Medical Center.
Linda was born December 31, 1951 in Russell, Kansas. She was one of two daughters born to Bentley Bond and Natalie (Farris) Moody. She grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School. She has lived most of her life in Russell, except for the last couple of years where she resided in Hays.
Linda was in Banking most of her career. She was the Assistant Vice President for Wilson State Bank in Russell, Kansas, where she retired due to health reasons in 2013. Before that she worked as a clerk for the Home State Bank of Russell and a Loan Officer at the UMB Bank of Russell. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church as well as the Russell V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, reading, traveling, going to Casinos and dining out with family and friends.
Linda’s surviving family include her two sons, Bud Neil (Jennifer A.) of Hays, Kansas and Travis Neil (Jennifer N.) of Ellis, Kansas; sister, Bonda Gates of Thornton, Colorado; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation for Linda will be held from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell. A private family service will follow at a later date. A Memorial has been established with the Hays Medical Center Hospice. Contributions and condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.
