Brandon Dee Cline, 43, of Luray, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and friends, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born August 27, 1981, in Ransom, Kansas, during a family move from Ness City to WaKeeney. He grew up in WaKeeney and graduated from Trego Community High School in 1999. After graduation, he took a job with a harvest crew which led him to meet the love of his life, Tammera Robbins. In the following years they moved to Kissimmee, Florida, where Brandon pursued his passion for marine mechanics, earning his Marine Technician certification from Marine Mechanic Institute in Orlando, FL.
On June 28, 2003, Brandon and Tammera were married, beginning a life together filled with love, laughter, and the joys of family. They were blessed with five beautiful children: Lizebeth, Emma, William, Andrew “AJ,” and Alex. They settled in Glen Elder, Kansas, where Brandon embarked on a successful career at Waconda Boats and Motors, later transitioning to Lake Wilson Marina in 2012. It was at Lake Wilson where Brandon became “the guy” for tuning up boats. Boaters from all over the region knew his name and depended on him to keep their lake days running smoothly. Even if it meant Brandon had to sacrifice his own lake time, he took pride in his work and loved being a part of the Lake Wilson family.
Besides his career Brandon took great pride in his service as a volunteer firefighter serving both Glen Elder and Luray’s Fire Departments for the last 21 years. Beyond his volunteering in the fire departments, he was also deeply involved in the Luray community helping wherever he could with any event taking place.
In his spare time, Brandon enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, playing cards and woodworking. Brandon had a special talent for woodworking and with that talent he created a hobby custom woodworking business named Creek Bottom Custom. He had joy in going out and cutting firewood, along with creating beautiful wood pieces that ranged from unique tables to keepsake chests. He was excited when he finally picked up a sawmill to be able to do a variety of more jobs. But above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his wife Tammy. Whether it was attending one of the children’s activities throughout the year, sitting by the campfire into the wee hours of the evening or simply helping to wrangle both the kids and their numerous animals at home, Brandon was always by Tammy’s side. Even recently, Brandon planned a surprise vow renewal for the two of them, surrounded by their loved ones. No matter what was needed, Brandon was always there – often the first to lend a hand and the last to leave once the job was done.
Brandon is survived by his wife of 21 years, Tammera, and their five children: Lizebeth, Emma, William, Andrew (AJ), and Alex. He is also survived by his parents, Randy and Sandra Cline of Luray, KS; his brother Andrew Cline (Caralee) of Plainville, KS; his sister Candance Jewert (Jason) of Hudson, CO; as well as a niece, nephews and a host of beloved cousins, aunts, uncles, and his “fremily.”
A celebration of Brandon’s life will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Waldo Senior Center, Waldo, KS, with burial to follow at the Luray City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell, with the family present from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the Luray Fire Department or Luray Community Pride INC. Contributions and condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary.
