Barbara Jean (Hufft) Reinhardt died of an apparent heart failure October 4, 2024, at the age of 91 at her home in Sun City, Arizona. She was born September 09, 1933, in Sleeper, Missouri to James W. Hufft and Opal Webster Hufft. Born during the depression, she attended schools in Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Oregon and Washington before the family’s final move to Ellinwood, Kansas. She graduated from high school there in 1951 and married her high school sweetheart, Raymond J. Spacil that fall. They lived on a farm near Ellinwood for 20 years and were blessed with 3 children. The marriage ended. Barbara had a love of singing, playing the piano and violin and loved dancing. She was an excellent cook and loved pretty clothes. She married Eugene M. Reinhardt of Russell, Kansas on June 30, 1972, and together they expanded Gene’s oil well testing business in Russell, Reinhardt Services, operating additional offices in Kansas and in Casper, Wyoming. They enjoyed traveling throughout the USA in their RV. Upon retirement, they moved to Sun City, Arizona where Gene played golf year-round. Barb was very active in the Palmbrook Golf Club Association and enjoyed playing cards with friends. She always had a song in her heart and a twinkle in her eye. She continued to enjoy traveling and made several trips to Europe and to visit her family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands. She is survived by her 3 children: Steven Spacil and wife Cathleen (Clinton, Utah), Michael Spacil, Melanie Rehmert and husband Tony (Rogers, Arkansas); step-daughters Cynthia Bolinger and husband David (Warsaw, Missouri), Kim Rumburg and husband Larry (Cypress, Texas); sister Jan Kowalsky-Mays (Tulsa, Oklahoma) and half sister Dayna Hufft-Gibson (Buffalo, Missouri), grandchildren and great grandchildren. Barbara will be inurned next to her husband Eugene at the Russell City Cemetery, Russell, Kansas at a later date. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas is in charge of the graveside service.
