Constance Kay “Connie” (Schatz) Kilian, 73, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Connie was born August 13, 1947 in Tucson, Arizona, the daughter of Joseph and Nora (Steinert) Schatz. As an infant, Connie and her family moved to Russell where she grew up and attended school.
Connie was united in marriage to Frank Kilian in Miami, Oklahoma. This union was blessed with a daughter, Michelle. They made their home in Russell.
Connie was a Manager of Dollar General in Hill City, Kansas for many years before becoming the Manager of the down town Dollar General Store in Russell. Later she worked many years at Lana’s Floral. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She enjoyed watching movies at the theater, reading, watching FOX News, following politics, walking and spending time with her dogs, and spending time with family and friends.
Connie’s surviving family include her daughter, Michelle Searles of Russell, Kansas; sister, Bonnie Schatz of Russell, Kansas; granddaughter, Alyssa Searles of Russell, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her mother Nora, husband Frank, and son-in-law Jeff Searles. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 16, 2020 at St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Cremation has taken place and no visitation will be held. A Memorial has been established with the Russell Dream Theater.
