Dennis Henry Kilian, 78, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Friday evening, June 5, 2020 at his residence.
Dennis was born November 29, 1941 in Russell, Kansas. He was one of five children born to Sam and Alma (Mai) Kilian. He grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School in the Class of ’59.
Dennis worked for Praytor Construction and Pipeline for over 16 years laying pipe. He also was a farmer most of his life. He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Russell. He was known for his huge garden and giving away to family and friends all his produce. He enjoyed cooking as well.
Dennis’ surviving family include his daughters, Michelle Pitcock (John) of Russell, Kansas, Holly Hall (Tracy) of Russell, Kansas and Darci Baker (Randy) of Russell, Kansas; son, Tony Kilian (Sharyn) of Russell, Kansas; brother, William “Bill” Kilian of Russell, Kansas; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Lori Kilian, brother Donald Kilian and sisters Patricia Walker and Betty Dumler.
Celebration of Dennis’ Life and gathering will be held at 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Chet’s Place in Russell. The family will be doing a private burial of ashes at a later date. A Memorial has been established as Dennis Kilian Memorial Fund. Contributions and condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.
