Doris Darlene Keller, 90, of Russell, Kansas, died on Wednesday, August 05, 2020, at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.
Doris was born on January 11, 1930, in Russell, Kansas, the daughter of John George and Ollive Grace (Francis) Ehrlich. She grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School in the class of 1947. She met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Edward Leroy Keller on July 20, 1947, in Bunker Hill, Kansas. From this union they were blessed with 2 children Danny and Laura. She worked as a production clerk for Graham-Michaelis & Sierra Petroleum for 20 years but her fulltime job was being a wife, mother and homemaker for her husband and children. She was a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church and Church Guild in Russell, Kansas. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, embroidering, baking and frying chicken. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving family include her son Danny Allen Keller (Roxanne) of Colby, Kansas; and daughter Laura Elaine Seirer (Dennis) of Russell, Kansas; sister Judith V. McLennon of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Brandon Dale Seirer, Casey Edward Seirer and Bria Russo; great grandchildren Jaelynne Marie and Coen Alexander.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward on November 23, 2013, and sisters Francis J. Staab and Georgia Lee Ehrlich, and brother Richard Dale Ehrlich.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary. A Private family graveside service will be held later. A memorial has been established with St. John Lutheran Church Kitchen. Contributions and condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.
