Gary Allen Bowers, 66, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Russell Regional Hospital.
Gary was born November 22, 1955 in Calais, Maine. He was one of seven children born to Charles and Norma (Farthing) Bowers.. He grew up in Maine.
Gary served his country in the U.S. Marines for eight years.
Gary and Adamae April Skinner have been together for 32 years. This union was blessed with two daughters, Angela and Dita. They lived in Kimball, Nebraska; Campo, Colorado; Cheyenne, Wyoming; and in 2003 he moved to Russell. During his life he was a computer repairman, made components for IGA, was a plumber and electrician. In Cheyenne, he donated his time teaching and helping children in need. He enjoyed gaming on his computer, building computers, and movie marathons.
Gary’s surviving family include his companion, April of the home; daughters Angela Skinner and Dita Bowers of the home; brothers, Kenny Bowers of Alexander, Maine and Ron Bowers of Rhode Island; sister, Barbara .
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Charles Bowers and James Hulholland and a sister, Alberta Kraft.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 28, 2022 at Trinity United Methodist Church. Military Rites will be conducted by the Russell V.F.W. Post # 6240. Cremation has taken place.
