Irmina Juliana (Oswald) Dauber, 82, of Bunker Hill, Kansas, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2020 at her home.
Julie was born September 2, 1937 in Hays, Kansas. The daughter of Lloyd J. and Irma (Hoff) Oswald.
Growing up she attended Blue Hill School in Ellis County, Kansas and graduated from Natoma High School. She then attended Ft. Hays State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in 1959 and a Master’s Degree in 1967.
Julie was a devoted Teacher for over 35 years. She worked eleven years at Gorham High School as Business Education Instruction then transferred to Russell High School to teacher Business courses. She taught twelve years for Barton County Community College Outreach Program. Later she served 18 years as Secretary and Clerk of the Board of Education of USD 407. She worked with Pro-Bound Sports in Dorrance and was working towards a Pastoral Administrator Degree. She was a proud member of NEA, KNEA, RSNEA, NBEA, MPBEA, KBEA and Delta Kappa Gamma, serving in many different capacities. She belonged to the Kansas Livestock Association and the Kansas Beef Association. Julie was united in marriage to Joe Dauber, Jr. Joe preceded her in death on February 13, 2003. She enjoyed being an events planning coordinator, facilitator for the Ad Astra Program, chairman of Bunker Hill Housing Block Grant, Russell County Fair Board Member, being a member of the Midwestern Polka club an elector for International Polka Hall of Fame located in Chicago, Illinois.
Surviving family include her stepson, Todd Dauber (Melissa) of Garden City, Kansas; step daughter, Trudy Line (Richard) of Leawood, Kansas; surrogate daughter, Melissa Ann Prosser of Oden, Kansas; seven step grandchildren, Addison Dauber (Susan), Brendon Dauber, Aubrey Dauber (Gabriel), Connor Line, Emily Line, Mallory Line and Natali Line.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Joe.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Bunker Hill Cemetery in Bunker Hill, Kansas The family has requested cremation so no visitation will be held. A Memorial has been established with the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Fund.
