Joyce Ann Scott, 76, of Bunker Hill, Kansas, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020 at her residence.
Joyce was born on December 7, 1943. She grew up in Yonkers, New York. She moved to the Waldo, Kansas area in 1973.
Joyce was united in marriage to John Allen Scott on December 14, 1973 in Russell, Kansas. They made their home in Bunker Hill.
Joyce has been a waitress most of her life. She worked over 35 years at the Bunker Hill Café and also worked many years with the Ramada Inn in Russell. She was an active member and Board member of the Assembly of God, Calvary Chapel in Russell. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, croqueting items for family and friends and helping children in the foster child program. She loved spending time and taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Joyce’s surviving family include her two sons, George Moresco (Amy) of Russell, Kansas and Michael Moresco of Salina, Kansas; two step sons, Ron Scott of Bunker Hill, Kansas and Jim Scott of Susank, Kansas; two step daughters, Janet Stafford (Tom) of Wisconsin and Devery Brafford of Kansas City, Missouri; brother, Tom Buzzell of Wichita, Kansas; sister, JoAnn Trapanese of Lake Placid, New York; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and nephew, Tom Buzzell, Jr. of Waldo, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Helen.
Celebration of Joyce’s Life will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell. Burial will follow at the Bunker Hill Cemetery in Bunker Hill, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to service time on Wednesday at the mortuary. Condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.
