Kathleen Ann (Rafferty) Foss, 67, of Great Bend, Kansas and formerly of Russell, Kansas, passed away at her home in Great Bend on November 25, 2019.
Kathleen was born January 4, 1952 in Russell, the daughter of Clyde W. and Beulah (Cornwell) Rafferty. She grew up in Russell and Osborne, Kansas and graduated from Russell High School in 1970. Later she attended a Cosmetology School in Great Bend.
Kathleen was united in marriage to Mark “Shorty” Dumler in June of 1970. This union was blessed with a daughter, Tracial. They made their home in Russell until they divorced in 1981. In 1981 she moved to Salina, Kansas then in 1986 she lived in Hutchinson. She then moved to Liberal, Kansas in 1990 and lived there until 2002 when she returned to Russell.
Kathleen was a Sales Representative for many media outlets in the Kansas area. She worked for KAKE TV, Cox Communications, KSKU and The B in Hutchinson. She was a member of the Russell Elks Lodge. She enjoyed reading, writing, drawing, spending time at the lake and taking care of animals.
Kathleen’s surviving family include her daughter, Traci Dumler of Hutchinson, Kansas; sister, Clydell Steinert (Carl) of Chase, Kansas; three grandchildren, Abigail Dumler, Gabrelle Bafford and Kelley Bafford; great grandson, Kyelyn Newlin; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Gale Rafferty.
A Gathering Service will be held from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell. The family requested Cremation . Condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.
