(Teppe) Hopper. He grew up in Russell and was a 1978 graduate of Russell High School. He then attended Kansas State University and Fort Hays State University. Floyd C. Tuzicka

Floyd Charles Tuzicka, 85, of Russell, Kansas, and formerly of Hoisington and Olmitz, Kansas, passed away Monday morning, July 24, 2023 at the Russell Regional Hospital. Floyd was born April 25, 1938 in rural Olmitz.  He was the son of Charles George and Barbara Janice (Dome) Tuzicka.  He grew up in Hoisington and attended Hoisington schools. Floyd served his country in the U.S. Army.  He was stationed in Beirut and Lebanon.  After his tour was done, he returned to the Olmitz area. Floyd was united in marriage to Clara Constance “Connie” Hewitt on November 17, 1963 in Medicine Lodge, Kansas.

Betty A. Boxberger

Betty Ann (Balloun) Boxberger, 90, of Russell, Kansas, passed peacefully Sunday, July 23, 2023 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas, with her family by her side. Betty was born on March 1, 1933, in Russell.  She was the daughter of Rudolph George and Mabelle (Britt) Balloun.  She spent the first year of her life in Gorham, Kansas.  Thereafter, her family moved to Russell.  Betty was baptized in Trinity United Methodist Church.  She grew up and attended schools in Russell; graduating from Russell High School in 1951.  Betty then attended and graduated from Central Business College in Denver, Colorado.

Darlene Francis Woelk, 90, went to be with her Lord on Friday, July 21, 2023, at The Pratt Health and Rehab in Pratt, Kansas. Helen Irene Zimmerman, age 102, passed away on Thursday, July 20,2023, in Lakewood, Colorado, She was born in Russell, Kansas May 4,1921 to Adam Fose and Kathrine Schneider.  She worked as clerk and bookkeeper for several businesses in Russell and was Worthy Matron of Eastern Star. Helen married Dean Zimmerman June 6, 1939. They were married for 68 years. Dean and Helen ran the Sky-Vu Drive In theater in Russell for 32 years. She was preceded in death by husband, Dean, daughter, Gwen Writer and son, Fred Zimmerman. Helen is survived by daughter, Mitzi (Leo) Stambaugh of Denver, four grandchildren
