Donald Lee Augustine, 59, of Russell, Kansas passed suddenly Friday, January 13, 2023 in Great Bend, Kansas. Don was born March 1, 1963 in Morris, Illinois.  He was one of four children born to Wayne J. and Clarissa Ann (Leiker) Augustine.  The family moved to Hays, Kansas when Don was young.  He grew up in Hays and was a 1981 graduate of Hays High School.  He did attend Barton County Community College and Ft. Hays State University. Don was united in marriage to Kimberly Jo Boxberger on November 21, 1987 in Russell.  This union was blessed with a son, Nick. 

David Arthur George, 80, of Natoma, Kansas died on Sunday, January 08, 2023, at the Rooks County Health Center in Plainville, Kansas. David was born on October 12, 1942, in Scott City, Kansas, to Arthur and Zelma (Lake) George.  He lived in several places during his early years, eventually settling in Lebanon, Kansas, which he called home.  He attended Lebanon High School.  He met, fell in love, and was united in marriage to Donna Dee Wait on August 8th, 1964, in Natoma, Kansas.  From this union David and Donna were blessed with 4 children, DeeAnn, Dennis, Dustin, and Denton.  He

Homewood, Kay – Born October 20, 1937, to Harry P. Brehm & Elva Rosa Bender in Hoisington, KS, passed away in Wichita, KS surrounded by her loving family on January 4th, 2023. Kay’s father traveled and worked for the Santa Fe railroad during many of her younger years. Kay attended numerous grade schools, her most memorable were at Hoisington and Kinsley. Irene Helen (Galardi) Jepsen, 91, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. Irene was born November 8, 1931, in Jackson, Michigan.  One of six children born to Frank and Costanza (LeDonne) Galardi, Irene grew up in Jackson until her senior year when her family moved to Huntington, West Virginia.  She graduated from St. Joseph High School. Irene was united in marriage to Delbert Dale Jepsen on January 14, 1959, in Topeka, Kansas.  This union was blessed with three daughters, Diane, Julie, and Dena.  They made their home in Lincoln

Donald Alan Dawson, 81, of Russell, Kansas died on Monday, January 2, 2023 at Russell Regional Hospital after a severe illness.  Don was born on July 20th, 1941 in Russell, Kansas the son of Arthur and Anna (Kost) Dawson.  He grew up in Russell and graduated Russell High School in 1959.  He attended Fort Hays State University where he got his degree in Psychology before transferring to the University of Kansas and graduating as a Pharmacist in 1966.  After graduating from pharmacy school, Don returned to Russell where he worked as staff pharmacist with his family at Dawson Drugstore.  This

Glenn E. Crawford, 82, of Natoma, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas. Glenn was born November 26, 1940 on the family farm in Osborne County, Kansas.  He was the son of Lloyd and Lucy (Robertson) Crawford.  He grew up on the farm northeast of Natoma and graduated from Natoma High School in 1958. Duane Lee Thacker, 79, of Russell, Kansas, died on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at the Hospice and Homecare of Reno, County in Hutchinson, Kansas. Captain Cory R. Applebee, United States Navy, Retired, 50, of Jacksonville, Florida, and former Russell, Kansas resident, died on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. Cory was born on September 30, 1972, in Creve Coeur, Missouri, the son of Monty D. Applebee and Linda L. (Prochaska) Applebee.  He grew up in Russell, Kansas, and graduated from Russell High School in 1991. After high school he attended and graduated from the University of Kansas, in Lawrence, Kansas. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy and served his country faithfully
