Sharyn Colene (Lambert) Kilian, 61, of Russell, Kansas, died on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at the St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. Sharyn was born on September 29, 1961, in Plainville, Kansas, the daughter of Elwyn James and Wilda Madeline (Hand) Lambert.  She grew up in Stockton, Kansas, and graduated from Stockton High School in 1979.  In her teenage years Sharyn worked in her mother’s café as a waitress & short order cook. Shirley Ann (Stephens) Krug, 84, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the Russell Regional Hospital in Russell. Shirley was born March 7, 1938 in Russell, Kansas.  She was the youngest of five children born to John Thomas and Grace Belle (McAllister) Stephens.  She grew up in the Hornview area in northern Russell County and attended country schools.  She graduated from Russell High School. Shirley was united in marriage to Ronald Harold Krug on June 1, 1958 in Russell.  This union was blessed with three children; Stephanie, Steven and Randy.  They made their home on a farm

Mary Catherine Malek was born on November 6, 1925 to Marguerite (Carl) and Valentine Malek at Cawker City, Kansas. She left this life peacefully in Russell, KS on September 14, 2022 at the age of 96.  Mary grew up in the Malek bakery run by her parents along with her siblings, sister Louise and brothers Carl, Leo and Ted.  She received her education at St. Theresa Academy and Cawker City High School.  Her father, Valentine, died in November, 1942. Samuel Louis Brock, 79, of Russell, Kansas, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at his home with his loved ones by his side. Sam was born September 27, 1943 in Sabetha, Kansas.  He was one of three sons born to Dale A., Sr., and Lucille N. Robert Dale Schmitt, 82, of Gorham, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at the Russell Regional Hospital in Russell. Bob was born May 26, 1940 in Hays, Kansas. He was the son of Gustav A. and Lydia (Wagner) Schmitt.  At the age of two his family moved to the family farm south of Gorham which was homesteaded in 1888. He graduated from Gorham High School in the Class of 1958. Bob was united in marriage to Lyla L. Derril Lee Castor, 88, of Russell, Kansas, passed away peacefully Monday, October 24, 2022 at Russell Regional Hospital with his family by his side. Derril was born August 8, 1934 in Torrington, Wyoming, the son of Glen and Ethel (Durham) Castor.  He lived his early years in Arapahoe, Colorado with his parents and older brother, Delbert. During his elementary school years, the family had moved to Kansas in the Russell and Osborne areas. Robert Alan Dollison, 53, of Russell, Kansas and formerly of Bullard, Texas passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the Russell Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Robert was born July 1, 1969 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Charles L. and Marcia Ann (Mueller) Dollison.  Grew up and graduated from Osborne High School in the Class of 1988. Anita Louise Patton, 66, of Russell, Kansas, died on Friday, October 21, 2022, at her home in Russell. Anita was born on November 18, 1955, in Lyons, Kansas, the daughter of Kent L. and Valoris A. Bryan Douglas Sellens, 50, of Ft. Worth, Texas and former Kansas resident, died on Friday, October 07, 2022, at his home in Ft. Worth. Bryan was born January 18th, 1972 to loving parents Mr. Glen Dale Sellens and Mrs. Gloria Maria Morgenstern (Sellens-Funk).  He was born in the town of Russell, Kansas.  Bryan graduated high school from Hays High School in Hays, Kansas.  He went on later to earn a Bachelor’s degree, and loved working as a Software Engineer.
