Iris Emma Schafer, 69, of Gorham, Kansas, died on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at the Russell Regional Hospital E.R. in Russell, Kansas. Larry Dean Kilian passed away July 31, 2022, at 85 years of age at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence, Kansas.  Larry was born February 21, 1937, in Ellsworth, Kansas. Larry competed in shot put in Junior High track and field and was on the 440 relay team, posting a new school record with a 51.4 run. He also played varsity football all 4 years of high school, played men’s basketball, and ran track. Donald H. Burton, 97, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Main Street Manor of Russell. Donald was born June 2, 1925 in Hays, Kansas.  He was the son of Harold N. and Helen M. (Truan) Burton.  They lived in Hays and moved to Russell when he started school.  He graduated from Russell High School in 1943.
