John Henry Becker, 78, of Russell, Kansas, died on Saturday, July 09, 2022, at the Russell Regional Hospital in Russell, Kansas. John was born on August 07, 1943, in Osborne, Kansas, the son of Matt and Luise (Meier) Becker.  He grew up on the family farm in Osborne County, Kansas and attended Mt. Dona was born July 6, 1950 in Wichita, Kansas.  She was the daughter of Donald and Lyla (Bruner) Fowler.  She grew up in Wichita and graduated from North High School. Dona was united in marriage to Larry Bender on March 21, 1981 in Milberger, Kansas.  They made their home on a farm south of Russell. Elaine was born on February 19, 1935, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Harvey and Doris (Bennett) Covington.  She grew up in Phillips, Texas and graduated from Phillips High School.  She met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Jack Holmes on November 01, 1953, in Phillips, Texas.  From this union Elaine and Jack were blessed with 3 children Tami, Julia and Tim.  The family lived in Sterling, Colorado, Cambridge, Nebraska and Farmington, New Mexico before moving

Bonnie Jean (Coleman) Kelly, 90, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Monday, June 20, 2022, at Main Street Manor in Russell. She was born September 27, 1931 in Omaha, Nebraska, to Allen and Irma (Callahan) Coleman.  Bonnie grew up in Omaha, graduating from Technical High School and continuing on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Omaha University in 1953.  While attending the university, she was active in the modern dance company. In August of 1953, Bonnie married Joseph M. Kelly, in Omaha, and began teaching art in the Omaha Public School system before they were blessed with four children:

Barbara was born October 1, 1950 in Russell, the daughter of Gordon and Marilyn (Flohr) Gregwire. She grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School in the Class of 68. She then attended Emporia State University for a year and then transferred to Ft. Hays State University where she obtained a Degree in Nursing. Barbara was united in marriage to Timothy F. Sadie Jo Louise Arnet, 27, of Russell, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, June 10, 2022. Sadie was born March 30, 1995 in Hays, Kansas, the daughter of Fred and Angie (Kaufman) Arnet. She grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School in the Class of 2013. She graduated from Ft. Hays State University with a Bachelor Degree in Social Work. She then attended and graduated from the University of Kansas with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. With great sadness, we report the passing of Captain Ronald Thielen, PO614 on Sunday November 07, 2021.  Ron was at home in Gilbert, Arizona, with his wife, Mary, when he succumbed to heart disease after a long and valiant battle.  Captain Ron, as his friends knew him, was born on December 13, 1945 and hailed from Dorrance, a small town in central Kansas.  Ron was already a licensed pilot when he attended university in Kansas.  He then volunteered to become a pilot for the United States Marine Corps, where he flew the photo-reconnaissance version of the Grumman A-6 Intruder in
