Elizabeth Ann “Libby” Bartley Erwin, 86, of Russell, Kansas, died on Sunday, February 28, 2021, at the Russell Regional Hospital in Russell, Kansas. Libby was born on July 10, 1934, in Larned, Kansas, the daughter of Edward and Valentine (Thorpe) Bartley. In 1940, the family moved to Great Bend, Kansas where she graduated from High School in 1952. She received her bachelor’s degree in Technical Journalism from Kansas State University in 1956 and was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega social sorority. David Earl Bray, 77, of Natoma, Kansas, passed away of Covid complications on Friday, February 26, 2021, at the Hays Medical Center, surrounded by his wife and children. Dave was born on May 04, 1943, in Kanopolis, Kansas, the son of William and Kathryn (Canaday) Bray.  As a child, his family lived in Colorado and Wyoming where his father worked in the mines, before returning to Kanopolis. Janice Rae (Stewart) Marshall, 82, of Russell, Kansas passed away on Thursday, Feb. 25th, 2021 at the Russell Regional Hospital, Russell, KS. Janice was born on May 1, 1938 in Hays, KS to Margaret (Boxberger) and Louis Kenneth Stewart. Janice lived her entire life in Russell and graduated from Russell High School with the class of 1956. Jeannine C. Truan, 84, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Wilson Nursing Center in Wilson, Kansas. Jeannine was born December 26, 1936 in Hays, Kansas.  She was one of five children born to Gilbert and Elizabeth (Kippes) Truan.  She grew up a short time in Hays before her family moved to the family farm and she attended Hope Valley schools.  She graduated from Gorham High School in the Class of 1954.  Then after high school she moved to Russell. Patricia Lucille (Kurtz) Peck, 90, of Bunker Hill, Kansas, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021 at the Hays Medical Center in Hay, Kansas. Patricia was born January 18, 1931 in Burlington, Colorado.  She was one of four children born to Frank and Alma (Kerr) Kurtz.  She grew up and attended schools in Alton, Kansas until her senior year of high school when her family moved to Salina and she graduated from Salina High School.  She then attended Kansas Wesleyan College and graduated with a Teaching Degree.  Later she attended Ft. Norma Jean (Gagna) Anderson, 92, of Russell, Kansas, died on Thursday, February 11, 2021, at theRussell Regional Hospital. Norma Jean was born on February 10, 1929, on the family farm near Rice, Kansas, the daughter of Elzear H. and Ida Maude (Hanna) Gagna.  Her family attended St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Aurora where she was baptized.  The family lived on farms in the Aurora and Concordia areas and attended country schools through the eighth grade.  Her family moved to Concordia, Kansas, in April 1943, and she graduated from Concordia High School and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic High School. 

Donna Kay (Schmidtberger) Albrecht, age 75, of  Russell, Kansas, died Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Hays Medical Center. Donna was born March 22, 1945, in Russell, Kansas to Luetta May (Turner) and Herman Francis Schmidtberger. Donna grew up in the Fairport and Paradise area. Her family moved to Gorham, Kansas her Junior year where she graduated from Gorham High School in 1963. She was married to her high school sweetheart, and the love of her life Dennis Albrecht on July 7, 1963 in Paradise, Kansas. They made their home in Russell and moved into their current home in 1969. Paul Ellsworth David, 79, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Tuesday morning, February 2, 2021 at the Russell Regional Hospital in Russell. Paul was born April 7, 1941 in Holdrege, Nebraska.  He was one of thirteen children born to Everett and Retha B. (Geer) David.  He grew up in Holdrege and Phelps County, Nebraska and graduated from Loomis High School in the Class of 1958. Paul served his country in the U.S. Army as Military Police at Ft. Benning, Georgia. After his service was completed, he lived in Denver, Colorado a few years before moving to Loomis, NE to work on

Jaclyn Louise (Lewis) Burton, 91, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Russell Regional Hospital. Jaclyn was born July 9, 1929 at her parent’s home in Hominy, Oklahoma, the daughter of Harold M. and Juanita S. (Winters) Lewis.  Jaclyn’s family moved from Oklahoma to Madison, Kansas in her early years.  Her parents bought a jewelry store where she enjoyed working.  The Lewis family bought a Russell, Kansas Jewelry store and moved there in 1945.  After graduating from Russell High School in 1947, she attended two years at Ft. Hays State College  where she became interested in drawing
