Herta (Bauer) Ehrlich, 88, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020 at the Russell Regional Hospital. Herta was born on April 28, 1932, in Voigtsgrun, Czechoslovakia, which was a German speaking community in Sudetenland.  Sudetenland is the historical German name for the northern, southern and western areas of former Czechoslovakia to Hermine (Stutzig) and Joseph Bauer.  After WW2, when Herta was 15 years old, the Czechs ran the German community out of Czechoslovakia taking all their belongings from them.  Herta’s family settled in the Bavarian Alps town of Blaichach Alg.  Herta loved playing her Accordion and was a

Cora Elizabeth “Corlene” (Chancy) Steinle, 85, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2020 at the Russell Regional Hospital. Corlene was born August 8, 1935, in Russell.  She was the second of five children born to Earl and Susan (Klein) Chancy.  She grew up and attended schools in Russell until she was fourteen and the family moved to Livermore, California. Later she returned to Kansas and graduated from Ft. Hays State University with a degree in Liberal Arts. Corlene was united in marriage to LaVern E. Daisy Fern (Burch) Conley, 95, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2020 at her daughter’s home. Daisy was born November 5, 1927 at the family farm south of Selkirk, Kansas.  She was the eighth of ten children born to Elzy G. and Mary E. (Lonberger) Burch. Daisy married Richard E. Conley on April 5, 1945 in Syracuse, Kansas.  They made their home in Leoti, Kansas and raised their four children; Eileen, Roger, Danny and Michael. Orville Leon Pruter, 84, died on Friday, October 30, 2020, at the Rooks County Health Center in Plainville, Kansas. Orville was born on November 17, 1935, at Natoma, Ks to Alvin and Yvonne (Goad) Pruter. Wanda was born June 30, 1928 in Palco, Kansas. She was the daughter of Azel and Thelma (Glasgow) Stull. She grew up in Palco and graduated from Palco High School in the Class of 1946. John Stanley Laubhan, 81, of Russell, Kansas, passed away October 22, 2020, at the Wheatland Nursing Center in Russell. John was born on September 25, 1939, in Hays, Kansas, the son of Georg E. and Irene L. (Meier) Laubhan.  He grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School in the class of 1957.  After high school he received training for auto mechanics at the U.S. Trade School in Kansas City, Missouri.  He eventually opened his own business and was owner and operator of Automatic Transmission Service in Russell for 50 years.  He was a longtime member of St.

Clara was born on March 17, 1934, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Albin and Florance (Culley) Golembiewski. She met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Edward M. Engling on March 08, 1954 in Lawton, Oklahoma.  From this union they were blessed with 5 children Edward, Christine, Michael, Andrew and Anthony.
