Rebecca Lynn Baer, 59, of Russell, Kansas, died on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at the Salina Regional Hospital in Salina, Kansas. Rebecca was born on August 08, 1961, in Phoenix, Arizona, the daughter of William P. and Iva Darlene (Gordon) Baer.  She grew up in California and lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado for most of her life before moving to Russell several years ago.  She worked for many years at the Russell Regional Hospital as a switchboard operator.  She was a longtime member of the Bible Baptist Church in Russell.  She is survived by her sons Jake Kossak of Mt.

Marlyn D. “Dean” Brown, 88, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at the Russell Regional Hospital in Russell. Dean was born April 23, 1932 in Hays, Kansas.  He grew up in Hays and later in Waldo, Kansas.  He graduated from Waldo High School. Dean served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955.  He was a Company Radioman.  After his tour he transferred to the Army Reserves and returned to Russell.
