Richard Eugene Boxberger, 85, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at the Main Street Manor in Russell Regional Hospital. Richard was born November 22, 1934, in Russell, the son of Herman and Pauline (Funk) Boxberger.  He grew up and attended school in Russell.  After graduation, he attended Kansas Wesleyan in Salina, Kansas before entering the military, serving in the U.S. Navy.  He married the love of his life, Carmen Wiley, in 1957.  They made their home in Glenview, Illinois, while serving in the military.  Upon their return to Russell, he worked for Bud Motzkus, then for Fritz

Robert C. “Bob” McCobb, 73, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at his residence with his family by his side. Bob was born April 13, 1947 in Russell, Kansas.  He was one of three children born to Boyden and Doris M. (Marsh) McCobb.  He grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School in the Class of ’65.  Bob then served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.  After his tour of duty, Bob was stationed at Ft. Isabell Hainke, 98, of Russell, Kansas, died on Monday, August 10, 2020, at her home in Russell, Kansas. Isabell was born on October 13, 1921, in Durham, England to Richard and Isabell Danby.  She grew up in Durham and graduated high school.  After high school she joined the Royal Army Air Force in England during World War II.  While in the military, she met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Raymond G. Leo V. Friebus, 86, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Main Street Manor in Russell. Leo was born August 19, 1933 in Dorrance, Kansas.  He was the son of John C. and Lydia (Wallert) Friebus.  He grew up in Dorrance and graduated from Dorrance High School. Leo was united in marriage to Janice M. Charles (Charlie) Munsch was born April 10, 1945 in Hays Kansas to Carl and Emma (Reichert) Munsch, Antonio, KS.  He was the 11th of 12 children. (Vincent) Whisler.  She grew up in WaKeeney, Kansas and graduated from Trego Community High School in the Class of 1942. Francis Dean “Frank” Mayers, 68, of Piedmont, Oklahoma passed on Friday, July 31, 2020, at his residence in Piedmont. Frank was born August 26, 1951 in Beloit, Kansas.  He was the son of Virgil Charles and Helen Ann Pahls (Blado) Mayers.  He grew up in Beloit, Great Bend, Kansas and Wichita, Kansas and graduated from South High School in Wichita.
