Larry Karl Pickens, 77, of Russell, Kansas, died on Sunday, October 23, 2016, at his home and surrounded by his family.
Larry was born on October 17, 1939, in Tonganoxie, Kansas, the son of Robert and Marguerite (Maxwell) Pickens. He joined the United States Navy. He was united in marriage to Deborah K. Briscoe on February 26, 1982, in Russell, Kansas. He was a self employed concrete silo repairman. He was also a life member of the Russell V.F.W. Post #6240.
Surviving family include his wife Deborah of the home; children David Pickens, Daniel Pickens, Kristina Poche', Stephanie Pickens and Sarah Falk; brother Chester Pickens and sisters Carrie Johnson and Margie Godfrey.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Jerry and Perry Pickens and a sister Carla Pickens.
A private service will be held at a later date and cremation has been selected by the family. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
