Wayne Wickham

Wayne K. Wickham , 82, of Plainville, Kansas, died on Sunday, July 06, 2014, at the Parkview Care Center in Osborne, Kansas.

Wayne was born on January 28, 1932, in Natoma, Kansas, the son of Raymond A. and Clio G. (Hoskins) Wickham.  He grew up in the Natoma area and attended Natoma Public School.  He later joined the U.S. Air Force.  After serving his country he came back home to the Natoma and Plainville area.  Wayne’s first marriage was to Luella Gilbert to which 3 children were born.  The marriage ended in divorce.  He was united in marriage to Ardell (Kirkwood) Houser on November 10, 2000.  For many years he worked in sales, selling fire equipment and towards the end of his career he worked driving and delivering cars for auto dealers.  He attended the First Baptist Church in Plainville, Kansas, for many years.

He is survived by his wife Ardell of the home, daughters Valerie Thrasher and Krystal Schween, 2 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter Alberta, and a brother Marion D. Wickham .

A graveside service to honor Wayne’s life will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, July 08, 2014, at the Plainville City Cemetery in Plainville, Kansas, with Pastor Todd Bohrer officiating.  Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church in Plainville, Kansas, and sent in care of the mortuary * 610 N. Maple * Russell, Kansas 67665.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Natoma, Kansas, is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
