Sammie Lee Bricker, 96, of San Marcos, Texas and former Gorham, Kansas, resident died on Saturday, October 12, 2024, in San Marcos, Texas.
Sammie was born on July 19, 1928, in Russell, Kansas, the daughter of Samuel T. and Lavita (Elliott) Steward. She grew up in the Gorham and Russell, Kansas, area and graduated from Gorham High School. She met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Melvin George Bricker on February 21, 1947, in Russell, Kansas. She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker and enjoyed caring for her family. She also enjoyed listening to music, playing the organ and scrapbooking.
Surviving family include her son Craig Bricker and daughter Carol Wisseman both of San Marcos, Texas and 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin on December 30, 2012, and son Darick Bricker. A graveside service to celebrate Sammie’s life will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at the Russell City Cemetery. Family will greet guests the day of the service. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas, is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
